Molecular taxonomy has been developed for hair follicles: Dermatologist

A new research from Columbia University, their team has taken first steps toward bringing such a genomic strategy into dermatology . In the second year, oncologists realized that molecular biologists could see medically important differences between tumors that looked identical to pathologists. Molecular biologists could read information in the genome to improve the accuracy of diagnoses, guide treatment strategies, and improve health outcomes. This study has been reported in the Scientific Reports.

Defect in Zinc Transport Mechanism Causes Pulmonary Diseases

The researchers of Kumamoto University , Japan have shown that abnormalities of the epithelial sodium ion (Na + ) channel ( ENaC ) and cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator ( CFTR ) reduces the body's ability to deliver zinc ions (Zn2 +) to lung epithelial cells. The insufficient zinc supply to the lung epithelial cells causes the overproduction of mucus , leading to the development of the obstructive pulmonary diseases.

Opioid Suggesting on Otolaryngology; After an initial spikes

New research shows that otolaryngologist opioid prescription in the mid-to late 2000s mirrored the increase in national prescription trends, but thanks to increased awareness, opioid rates in otolaryngology seem to be declining. Opioid prescribing patterns among otolaryngologists were highlighted in two studies presented at the 2017 annual meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery, in Chicago.
