Partners May Facilitate Early Detection Of Melanoma

A retrospective study evaluates the association between marital status and T stage at the time of presentation with early-stage melanoma and the decision for sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in appropriate patients. There is a bonus to marriage for melanoma patients: They tend to be diagnosed in earlier more treatable stages than patients who are unmarried, widowed or divorced. The study was published in JAMA Dermatology.
