Effectiveness of Biosensor Technologies in Disease Cure

Every cell in our bodies is shaped by its outer coating, or biomembrane, which wraps the cell in a supportive and protective blanket, allowing the cell to carry out its normal function while also defending it against attack. New technology has opened up an area of research that makes it possible to study how the biomembrane functions, including how it responds when a disease molecule attacks, paving the way to more effective disease treatments.

While Suffering Across Some Diseases, Access To Care Gives Support

While suffering can be severe across all diseases, access to care is uneven. The hierarchy that determines how little or how much support is available for an illness is known as "disease prestige". The name of an illness can affect the level of care a person receives. Cancer sufferers experiencing fear and uncertainty may have access to cancer care centers. Donations and bequests enable these centers to offer everything from accessible parking to wig and beauty services, to comprehensive clinical care.

Research Finds Aggression Neurons

Using optogenetic techniques, the researchers were able to control aggression in mice by stimulating or inhibiting these cells. The results, which are published in the scientific journal Nature Neuroscience, contribute to a new understanding of the biological mechanisms behind aggressive behavior
