A new study at The University of Toledo shows that a father donates not one, but two centrioles through the  during fertilization and the newly discovered sperm structure may contribute to infertility, miscarriages and birth defects

ARDS: Less-Invasive Treatment Identified

The numbers are grim: Of the 200,000 Americans diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) each year, 30 to 50% will die. But, clinical researchers at the University of Missouri School of Medicine's Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Environmental Medicine identified a less-invasive treatment option for patients with severely impaired lung function.

Health Care For Undocumented Immigrants

A new analysis highlights an ironic development in the intertwined issues of immigration and health care – two areas where current and previous administrations differ greatly. Undocumented people in certain states may get more medical help while they are here, it finds, thanks to the current administration's effort to give states more flexibility with their health care spending. And in a reversal of the previous administration's stance, states may find it easier to get that permission.
