EPA Approves for New Bacteriostatic Surface Coating

Allied BioScience, a Plano, Texas-based biotechnology company announced today it has received an approved label from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for SurfaceWise ™, a new bacteriostatic surface coating that inhibits the growth of and provides continuous protection against bacteria, fungi (mold and mildew) and algae which cause odor, staining and discoloration in various commercial settings, including hospitals and sports facilities.

Differences Between Nucleosides And Nucleotides

The difference between nucleosides vs. nucleotides involves the presence or absence of a phosphate group. A nucleoside consists of a nucleobase and a sugar (ribose or deoxyribose) whereas a nucleotide contains a nucleobase, a sugar, and one or several phosphate groups. Hence, the main difference is nucleotides have phosphate groups and nucleosides do not.
